Rich received his Master of Science Degree in Earth Science Education from State University of New York at Albany and his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in Geological Sciences.
Rich is originally from St. Louis Missouri. He began his career in education in upstate New York and taught there for over 20 years. He took a short leave from education to open his own business and then returned to teaching again in 2015. Rich relocated to Southern Utah in 2017 where he continued his love for teaching and educating.
Rich enjoys volunteering at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site as well as the Silver Reef Museum. He also enjoys Utah scenery and geology and he feels that Southern Utah is an “Open Textbook.” He enjoys sports and especially baseball.
Shareene has spent the last 20 years working with youth. Ten of those were working in treatment facilities for troubled youth. 10 were working in the public school system as a special education teacher to mild to moderate students, creating greatness in those who were led to believe they could not succeed. She has spent several years as a life coach, helping youth and adults exist in the struggles of daily life. Due to her love for youth, she served as an advisor to the Youth City Council for two years.
Her education includes; an Associates from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, A Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and currently working on her Ph.D. from Grand Canyon University. Shareene’s hobbies are writing family history books, because of her personal philosophy of “when you know your past you understand yourself.” She also enjoys hiking and spending time with family. She has three children that she adores, who are, as adults very busy in their own endeavors. Shareene has been with ARA for 4 years.
Trevor is a certified teacher with a BS in Secondary Education, endorsed in Theatre. He has been in the performance world his entire life. He loves music and performing and has been a professional musician most of his life. He has worked in film, television, and recording as an engineer, actor, and performer. He has been teaching music and acting for the past 15 years.
Trevor has also been a tutor in Math, English, and Science. Trevor is finishing his bachelors and teaching certificate and training at Dixie State University. As the father of seven children(6 boys, 1 girl) he also has a love for children and teaching. Trevor has been with ARA for over 4 years.
Jeff has spent 20 years in education. He taught special education for 17 years in Houston, Texas. There he ran an in-school behavior program and was an inclusion teacher for all academic subjects. Jeff taught Social Studies at Sunrise Residential Treatment in Hurricane, Utah for two years. There he taught World History, US History, Government, and Personal Finance. Jeff also worked at Redcliff Ascent Wilderness Therapy Program in Enterprise, Utah as a field staff.
Jeff has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University, with a minor in History. He has a Texas Teaching Certificate in Generic Special Education (K-12) and is currently working on getting his teaching certificate in Utah.
Jeff grew up in Fresno, California, but spent most of his life in Texas. He currently lives in Cedar City with his lovely wife and two stepsons. When he is not working, Jeff loves to read, watch football, and hike.
