A Family Focused Program

Families Change Together

Family Changes

Family involvement at Ashcreek is paramount. We want to make sure parents are a major part of the healing process. As a result, we encourage calls and check-ins from parents in a structured manner in compliance with the master treatment plan.

While at our program Family is a focus point.

We offer weekly phone calls between parents and their son. Weekly phone calls give us a chance to keep the parents involved and help our students understand the importance of family.

Parents can visit often. If their schedule permits them to have the option to see their son every month. This is unique in that we structure our program to allow parents to be on campus and interact with staff and their child on a regular basis.

Personal email. Parents can communicate with their son without monitoring or filtering. Most programs fear this direct communication but we encourage the one on one interaction, it helps to reestablish trust and rebuild the relationship between parents and their son.

Family Workshops

We offer a different family workshop every three months. In this two day seminar, we give parents a chance to meet with their son’s therapist and go over progress. These sessions allow us to share insight and improvement. We go over where their son was when he entered our program and how he is starting to show progress.

We offer training in this workshop for parents to learn how to work with their child once they transition home. Parents get a chance to spend time with their son and reestablish a relationship of trust and respect.

The focus of everything we do at Ashcreek is on the transition home, where each boy returns to their home environment. This is discussed in the Family Workshops and we help set boys and their families up for success. From advice and pointers to receiving contact information so we can help families long after the have left our program. We are focused on getting each boy home with the right tools to succeed.
